Cardiac and pulmonary rehab services are based on exercise,
education and social support. Cardio-pulmonary Rehab programs are designed
for individuals who have had heart attacks, bypass surgery, angioplasty,
or other diagnosed heart/cardiac conditions, and for patients with respiratory
problems or reduced lung function. In most cases, insurance/Medicare
will cover the early phases of the Rehabilitation program.

Who participates in cardio-pulmonary rehab? Those who
have suffered a heart attack, had bypass surgery, valve replacement or
angioplasty, heart transplant recipients, those with chronic heart failure,
and those with PVD – Peripheral Vascular Disease.
Pulmonary rehab patients include: Those with asthma, emphysema,
chronic bronchitis, pulmonary fibrosis or lung cancer.
